Important safety warnings for Radiant Cream Color, Root Perfection, Root Reboot, Light Works, and Madison Reed MR
Hair color contains ingredients which can cause an allergic reaction, which in rare cases can be severe.
Therefore, you must follow these precautions:
- DO NOT use if:
- You have already had a reaction to hair color product.
- You have a sensitive, irritated, or damaged scalp.
- Temporary "black henna" tattoos may increase your risk of allergy to this product.
- Avoid eye contact. In case of eye contact immediately flush with water. If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them before rinsing the eyes.
- Use the gloves provided. Do not leave product on hair for longer time than recommended.
- Rinse hair well after application.
- This product is not intended to be used on children. Keep out of reach of children.
In case of reaction while coloring hair, such as a rash or burning sensation on the scalp, rinse immediately and discontinue use. Call a doctor if irritation persists. For any question relating to your individual sensitivities or specific allergies, consult a doctor. If swallowed, call a doctor or poison control center immediately.
CAUTION: This product contains ingredients that may cause skin irritation on certain individuals and a preliminary skin test according to accompanying directions should first be made. This product must not be used for dying eyelashes or eyebrows- TO DO SO MAY CAUSE BLINDNESS.
Read and follow the instructions which are included in the color kit carefully before use. Always consult your physician if you have questions or concerns.
Performing a sensitivity test for Radiant Cream Color
We always recommend you do a sensitivity test before coloring your hair, even if you have already used this or other coloring products before. This test represents an important precaution. However, be aware that even if a sensitivity test has been carried out you may still experience an allergic reaction when you color your hair. The sensitivity test is not a guarantee of avoiding future allergic reactions. Always consult a doctor if you have any questions or concerns.
At least 48 hours beforehand, mix 1 part Cream Color (a small squeeze) with 1.5 parts Activator (a few drops). Use a cotton swab to apply a quarter-sized amount to a small patch of skin behind your ear or inside your elbow. Keep dry. Wait 48 hours. If there is no sign of change to the area, then you are ready to color.
If your kit includes a Pure Pigment Shot, then combine 1 part Radiant Cream Color (about a pea-sized amount) and a small amount of the Pure Pigment Shot (a small pea-sized amount) with 1 part Conditioning Color Activator.

The sensitivity test is not a guarantee of avoiding future allergic reactions. Always consult a doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Combine 1 part Color (a pea-sized amount) with 1 part Activator (a pea-sized amount). Use a cotton swab to apply to a small patch of skin behind your ear or inside your elbow. Do not rinse off. Keep dry. Wait 48 hours. If there is no sign or change to the area, then you are ready to color. Store the opened Activator pouch upright until it's time for the full application and seal with a clip or tape. Formulas are still effective when used 72 hours after opening.

Performing a sensitivity test for Root Reboot
We always recommend you do a sensitivity test before applying this product–at least 48 hours beforehand, even if you have already used this or other coloring products before. This test represents an important precaution. However, be aware that even if a sensitivity test has been carried out you may still experience an allergic reaction when you color your hair. The sensitivity test is not a guarantee of avoiding future allergic reactions. Always consult a doctor if you have any questions or concerns.
Dip one end of a cotton swab into the Liquid Color, fully saturating, and apply a quarter-sized amount to a small patch of skin behind your ear or inside your inner elbow. Dip the end of another cotton swab into the Color Activator tube, fully saturating. Apply to the same area of your skin where you applied the Liquid Color, and mix the two onto your skin. Keep dry. Wait 48 hours. If there is no sign of change to the area, then you are ready to color.
Root Reboot Ingredients
Color Activator:

Important safety warnings for Light Works
CAUTION: This product contains persulfates and other ingredients which may cause serious irritant and/or allergic reactions in some individuals.
THEREFORE, YOU MUST FOLLOW THESE PRECAUTIONS:
- DO NOT USE if you have already had a reaction to bleaching your hair or a haircolor product, if you have a rash on your face, or if you have a sensitive, irritated, or damaged scalp.
- Conduct a skin sensitivity test 48 hours before each time you color (see instructions), even if you have already used coloring products before.
- Do not use if your hair has been processed with a hair straightener, relaxer, perm, or all-over bleach.
- Do not use when the hair has previously been colored with henna or metal dyes.
- Do not use on eyelashes, eyebrows or other facial hair.
- Best used on hair sections that have not been previously bleached, including highlights or bleached Ombre.
- Avoid contact with eyes, doing so may cause severe eye irritation and possible eye injury. In case of eye contact, immediately flush with water. If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them before rinsing the eyes.
- Avoid contact with skin. If contact occurs, remove immediately with enclosed cleansing wipe or rinse with lukewarm water.
- Remove all metal objects from hair before application. Do not use metal clips, bowls, combs, or other accessories to mix or apply product.
- Brush hair lightly to remove tangles and hair styling residue before highlighting.
- Place a towel around neck prior to application, and use the gloves provided.
- Do not mix the components of this kit with any other product.
- Do not apply mixture directly to scalp.
- Do not cover hair or apply heat while product is on your hair.
- Do not leave product on hair for longer time than recommended.
- Rinse hair well after application.
- Do not leave the mixture in a closed bottle (bottle may expand or burst). Do not keep any unused product.
- Store and use at room temperature (50° to 80° F)
- This product is not intended to be used on children. Keep out of reach of children.
In case of reaction, such as redness, burning, pain, or itching, rinse immediately and discontinue use. Call a doctor if irritation persists. Do not ingest. If swallowed, call a doctor, hospital, or poison control center immediately. Induce vomiting only if recommended by medical personnel.

Performing a Sensitivity Test for Light Works
We always recommend you do a sensitivity test before using Light Works™ Balayage Highlighting Kit. Perform a sensitivity test at least 48 hours before use, even if you have already used this or other coloring products before. This test represents an important precaution. However, be aware that even if a sensitivity test has been carried out, you may still experience an allergic reaction when you color your hair. The sensitivity test is not a guarantee of avoiding future allergic reactions. Always consult a doctor if you have any questions or concerns.
Using a plastic utensil, mix ½ teaspoon of Toning Glaze with ¾ teaspoon Toning Glaze Activator. Use a cotton swab to apply a quarter-sized amount to a small patch of skin behind your ear or inside your elbow. Keep dry. Wait 48 hours. If there is no sign or change to the area, then you are ready to color.
Performing a strand test for Light Works
- Do a lightening preview test to determine the approximate timing required to reach your desired degree of lightness. This is particularly important if your hair has been previously chemically treated (see Important Safety Warnings).
- Create a test strand by selecting a ¼ inch wide strand of hair from an underneath (underlying) section, and place an elastic band 2 inches from the root.
- Put on the gloves provided in the kit, and use a plastic spoon and container to thoroughly mix ½ teaspoon of Lightening Cream with 1 teaspoon of Lightening Activator.
- Apply the mixture to the entire strand, and start timing.
- After 10 minutes, wipe the strand clean. If the hair strand is not light enough, re-apply the highlighting mixture and check it every 5 minutes until you achieve the desired results. (Total processing time should not exceed 60 minutes).
- Rinse and dry the stand. Remember this time optimal time duration to use when processing Light Works.

Call a doctor if irritation persists. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a poison control center right away- do not induce vomiting.

Performing a Sensitivity Test for Prime for Perfection
Before use, wash a small area inside of the elbow with soap and water and pat dry. Apply a small amount of Prime for Perfection on the area. Remove after 20 minutes with soap and water, or immediately if irritation occurs. If there is no sign of change to the area, you are ready to prime.
